Our good friend Hector Palafox was kind enough to send us his pictures of Natural High from Anaheim. Check them out in the media section.
We had a really good time at Anaheim, and enjoyed talking with all the fans at the party in the pits as well as the many fans during the autograph session afterwards. Kelvin learned about the Anaheim track and is making chassis adjustments in order to improve his racing times. Our graphics designer will also be working on finishing the stripes/outlines. We are looking forward to the second Anaheim event on January 27. Hope to see you there.
New photos in the media section taken by Rosalee Ramer.
New photos added to the media section - thanks to Hector Palafox for the contribution.
The annual WGAS show at the Southern California Fair in Perris Valley was the site of Natural High's 50th event and third ROLLOVER. It was a great show, with eleven of the world's best monster trucks performing freestyle on Saturday afternoon, October 7, 2006, racing on Sunday afternoon and freestyle again on Sunday evening to cheering crowds packing into full stands.
The rollover happened Sunday afternoon. Kelvin drove Natural High back to the pits, re-beaded the front tire, did a quick inspection and went back out to complete racing.
Sunday evening freestyle was very exciting with Natural High taking a second place out of the field of trucks. What a way to always remember our 50th show.
We would like to thank Mark Raymond, Justin Cluster, Hank Wempe (Body by Hank), Mark Moreno (Moreno Petroleum), Tim Rosser, Sam Sturges (Unnamed and Untamed) and all the other people that have given of their time to make doing 50 shows in the past two years possible and fun. We would also like give a very special thank you to Kelvin's brother, Clinton, for all his late nights and long hours. We have also met some great people over the past two years, and have really enjoyed meeting all the fans that have made this possible for us, because without the fans we wouldn't be able to live our dream.
Check out the wild sequence from the rollover.
Kelvin Ramer and #18 Natural High ran away with the Round 18 Obstacle Course victory this past Saturday in Chillicothe, Ohio. The track was wet and muddy and took a lot of driving skill and strategy. This was Kelvin’s first win for the Monsters of Destruction (MOD) TV series.
The number 18 is the Ramer family’s Lucky Number. Back on October 18, 1980, Kelvin Ramer asked his girlfriend Janette to go steady. Together they would do something special on the 18th of each month, and got married on June 18, 1983. Kelvin was 18 years old. Their son, Ben was born on August 18, 1999. When Kelvin won his Kart Racing Championship, he did it in Kart #81 (someone was already using #18). Natural High’s 18th paid performance (and first MOD show) was MOD rounds 17 and 18 in Monroe, Washington in August, 2005.
So this year, when Chris Kingston of the MOD race series assigned numbers to each of the trucks, we naturally requested 18. The number 18 has a lot of meaning and a lot of memories for our family. Kelvin’s first MOD victory in Round 18 has added one more. It is really special to our family that truck #18’s first time winning a MOD race happened in Round 18.
